Progress:

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

In the summer of 2011 we took Alicia to New Jersey for a Brain Injury Study that was not sponsored. It was expensive, but it was worth it. I loved all her therapists. She made great progress in the three months we were there. We couldn’t of gone without the support of others whom came to her fundraisers or donated money without going to a fundraiser and also donated items to be auctioned off as well. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay in New Jersey indefinitely.

We returned to San Diego after the end of the summer. We remained friends with the families and the therapists though. Friends you meet while going through a tragedy tend to be friends forever.

The doctors took her off all her stimulants and progress slowed to the point we thought, this may be as good as we can ever see her achieve. Yet, Alicia being the trooper and fighter that she is, throughout with broken fingers and a rib from osteoporosis, she continued to improve. Slowly but gradually we move forward to the time we can meets those goals I have posted. The journey continues…
